Used Subaru WRX for sale under $40,000 near me

I recently had a great experience purchasing a pre-owned Mercedes from Lindsay VW of Dulles. Having worked in the automotive industry for nearly 30 years, I have experienced many dealers and they are not all the same. I would definitely purchase a vehicle from Lindsay again. I was connected to them from a search I made on cars.com that lead to a number of friendly conversations with my salesman Robert Derby. One of the best fun cars to drive daily and enjoy on the track if desired. After testing many manual transmission cars on the market in this segment including the Elantra N, Acura Integra, Jetta GLI, Honda Type R and others I decided to go with the new WRX and I am very happy with the purchase. This is my first WRX after driving an Audi S4, BMW 335XI, Mustang ECO Boost and other sports cars in the past and I found the WRX to be just as fun to drive on daily bases and driving the family around. The new body looks nice ( much better than the previous generation in my opinion) and aggressive even though some have complained about the cladding but in person it looks good. I personally liked the way they make the car sportier and not just any boring sedan. Mine came with the upgraded STI exhaust which is a nice performance feature and love the sound of it. I have the limited addition that comes with many features. The interior looks very sporty and now I really enjoy the nice size screen after I got used to all the operations. The WRX AWD system is one of the best, allowing the car to handle the curves and turns in a superior way. My weekend car is a BMW M4 but I am enjoying the WRX just as much. It's for sure a long time enjoyment with a great value. If you are in the market for a fun, reliable sports sedan don't hesitate as you will be happy with the WRX.

The Subaru WRX lost its signature subie rumble when it was redesigned with the all new FA20DIT engine. However, don't let that deter you from this Subaru WRX because what it lacks for in noise it more than makes up for in the performance department. The instant turbo spool and glorious turbo noises that come from under the hood can be only described as HEAVEN. The car offers more performance than what can legally be had on the streets and that is ok with me. The perfect car that doubles as a family sedan.

Our Auto By Design Experience. This was the most fun we have ever enjoyed car shopping. This place is like a Candy Shop for Cars with low mileage. When you shop there are information packets in every vehicle. We loved the sales people so nice and helpful, with so many choices it was a difficult decision. The Cars and Show Rooms are so clean. If you Live in Michigan this is car will be the perfect car for you as a daily. Its powerful and handles very good. And in the winter its a beast. You will never be scared of Michigan winters ever again.

I've a new 2022 WRX for about 500 miles so far. The car is fantastic. Its a car you WANT to drive. I've a new appreciation for Subaru (this is my first Subaru), as the design is straightforward, simple and practical. This is a decent, performance four door sedan. The performance is quite nice. Torque is handed out quickly at relatively low RPMs, which is nice in a turbocharged car. I bought this car with a manual transmission, and the shifter is good, a nice toogle going from gear to gear. Especially appreciated is a nice, small feature; when stopped on a hill, the car engages the brakes for a fraction of time when you shift into first from a dead stop, preventing rollback and making the shift even easier. This car is FUN to drive. It is wonderful to have a car that when you walk by, you think "I'd like to drive my car now"...even if you have no particular errand to run or place to go. If you want a fun ride, you really need to test drive a WRX. It handles VERY well, and takes turns/darts through traffic with ease. The ride is firm, which figures into its sports car heritage, and low profile tires. Which is fine with me, I prefer it that way. It is a sports car ride. For a sports car, it is very practical, with a very reasonable amount of room in the back seat passenger area. The large 11" screen to control most car functions is prominent, to some extend customizable, and very straightforward. My only complaint is there seems to be a half second lag when using some touchscreen controls. The integration with Android Auto was quite nice, as well as to bluetooth. I LIKE the plastic around the wheel wells...it protects against road debris. If you plan to keep the car for the long haul, I count it as a plus. I actually like the exterior styling, especially on a white car, as its a nice black/white trim contrast. The trunk is a good size for a car of this size. I did get the trunk protection package, which includes plastic panels to protect the back of the rear seat...worth getting. I deliberately bought this car as a long term purchase, one step above the base model, the "Limited" version. I wanted a car without TOO many cameras, sensors, and electronics (the higher trim levels with the CVT transmission have more), to have a less complex car. This car is also an excellent value in the low to mid 30's. I can't really speak to long term reliability YET, as the car only has 500 miles on it at present. However, I can see the engine layout (boxer engine) is straightforward, and seems easy to work on. Also a plus, there is a ton of internet resources on Subaru boxer engines in general. For the time I've owned it, its been working perfectly, I've not had to go back to the dealer for any issues at all.

Got my 2020 a few years back been a soild car. Haven't had one major issue with any of the car drivableity of the car. But thank again my service record is flawless . But for an all wheel drive car she pulls hard when your ready to have fun but can just cruise when you need her to the drive modes are a great ad to it . But all and all would recommend anybody give it a look and go test drive one .

You enjoy driving a spirited car that responds to your input. : “check “ you need the room and versatility of a four door sedan. : “check” You need the all weather security of all wheel drive. : “check”. I don’t think there’s anything in the marketplace that checks all the boxes like a Subaru WRX.

I purchased a used car at BMW Fairfax. Process was seamless and transparent. The car was priced a little below what was expected, and the car itself was solid. No hidden fees or market adjustments popped up in the purchase process (beyond their stated Doc fee)...it was simply a good car at a fair price. Car is great in Pennsylvania winter, it has a great exterior styling but the interior feels cheaper. I’m not upset with this as it’s a sub 30,000 car and I see the trade off with the legacy for the price is the engine being ~100 horsepower more to the crank while the legacy with less power has a much nicer interior. Also VERY happy this car comes in a Manual and will continue to buy them so long as this stays.

I, my family and friends I ve referred have been purchasing cars from here for at least 10 years. Between all of us maybe a total of 25 vehicles we brought. I always deal with Mario. Fun, fast and fuel friendly (when not applying the first 2 adjectives :)) I have owned 3 Civic SIs before this WRX. Take the SIs + more power and AWD and you have a WRX for roughly the same price. Reliability> I put it a few ticks below the Honda (I don't see these going 200,000 + problem free miles as my previous Hondas), but I would still consider it reliable. Easy to maintain with the oil filter right on top. Looking forward to owning another Subi down the road.

The FA 20 engine and cvt transmission were designed as a unit .There have been issues with the cvt as drag racing stretches the internal belt and the hurt begins rolling starts all good . Great road car in any weather a solid performer .

This car was exactly what I needed in a small, very sporty version. The strength of wheels could be improved. Infotainment system not fully compatible with Android phones. Electric requirements too much for the battery. Replaced 3 times in the first 36 months but at no cost to me.

What can I say about the 2018 subaru wrx? It is versatile for all your daily needs. It's just fun to drive! Taking the kids to school in a hurry, cruising the beach parking in the sand the awd will pull you right out. Cruising the mountain twisty roads in the fall hearing that turbo spool or hitting the slopes in winter with your friends. Even getting 26-30mpg everywhere. It does everything very well but some things could use a extra touch for instance it handles ok some antiroll sway bars could help for aggressive driving alot of body roll and chassis flex. Now my biggest complaint can be fixed with a cobb accessport if you dont mind voiding warranties. The 18 wrx has a weird factory tune. The powerband is irritating it peaks 22psi of boost @3000rpm to 4000rpm at part throttle and then gets pulled back to 16.5psi threwout no matter how hard you push the throttle down. It says let's play SIKE!!! It's a issue that can be resolved with a simple flash tune but those of us that want to keep the powertrain warranty are forced to live with it. So there you have it my pros and cons to the 2018 SUBARU WRX

Great handling, quick acceleration, fun to drive. Not great on gas in the city, but pretty good on the highway. Had the short-throw shifter installed, which was a great decision for city driving. I would but it again, but my next car will be an automatic (city commute), probably a 2020 Crosstrek.

My 2017 WRX does a good balancing act as a fun, sporty driver's car and a family hauler. Perhaps the quality is just shy of a Honda, but I'm quite satisfied with it!

This car meet all my needs. 4 doors, manual transmission, smooth ride, reliable, quick, comfortable and much more. The heated seats and moon roof were a great extra.

Yup, I’m a Subaru fan boy, but a WRX has been on my bucket list for years & to finally drive one is awesome! The ride is definitely rougher than my outback, but the fun of driving it out-weighs all of that.
